Buteo

Buteo is one of our larger log cabins, sleeping 4 to 6 people. Far removed from any steep slopes, it’s perfect for families with small children, older guests or those requiring disabled access. Buteo is the closest cabin to the goats’ paddock, which means you can take the kids to visit Nelson, Desmond and Jacob, our super-friendly goats. It’s also the closest to reception, where you can all pick up a complimentary hot chocolate! With a stunning view pointing away from the rest of Eagle Brae, you can enjoy spectacular scenery from the comfort of Buteo’s private deck.

Buteo means buzzard in Latin, and this cabin really does command a buzzard’s-eye-view of Strathglass and the surrounding glen. We regularly see buzzards soaring in the skies above Eagle Brae.

Buteo Log Cabin Features

Buteo sleeps 4 to 6 people, with 2 double or twin rooms, plus 2 single character log beds on the mezzanine. So it’s well-suited for families and larger groups. The upstairs bedroom has an ensuite bathroom and there is an additional shower room downstairs. There’s also a sitting-kitchen-dining area and office space. Outdoors, Buteo has a large deck with seating, offering beautiful private views looking down Strathglass.
